Why we built Genie
There are real monsters on the internet, but there are also amazing lifelong friends, inspiration that shapes lives, and knowledge that took all of human history to gather. As technologists and parents, we live in the balance of wanting our kids to have every opportunity to be creative, connect with friends, learn and grow... and wanting them to be protected and kept safe. AI has unlocked another level of oversight and contextual moderation that protects kids from behavior that is dangerous but "looks" positive... i.e. Grooming and Griefing. This lets us build a supportive, kind and encouraging companion for children that helps them when they're feeling alone, sad or helpless.
Our ethos
We are committed to helping every child unlock the opportunity, joy and power of the internet in a safe and fun way. We will never sell the data or information children share with us. Our own children use our apps, and we protect them fiercely while working hard to inspire and support them in their growth and potential.
